'The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart' has been made into a (Prime) series starring Sigourney Weaver, who is excellent, as always, representing complex, important, polarizing, brilliant, provoking, wounded, poignant, championing women in film (Prime). I finished the last episode last night. The tragic/healing content, stunning flower language, complexities of women enduring and coping with cyclical, dynamic forms of relational abuse, and the organic network towards recovery, pursuit of safety, and self worth. The story deeply resonated with me; deeply. I'm interested in reading the book. Thanks for your review.

I’m 3 years late to reading this book and just finished it a few nights ago. It’s definitely at the top of my list for favorite reads. The idea that Ted was also Olivia and Lauren was in the back of my mind, but the book made me question myself so much throughout that I was still pleasantly surprised and sooo relieved that Ted was the good guy. It was also so nice to see him socializing and taking down the boards on his house at the end of the book. Even though he’s a fictional character I hope he gets to have a long happy rest of his life

I absolutely loved this book and would love to talk about it. I do have a question about DID, is the idea of nested personalities accurate to how DID really is like? If I read and understood the book correctly Olivia is inside of Lauren and both of them are inside of Ted like the nesting dolls so ted cannot directly contact Olivia, but Lauren can.

Literally just finished listening to it, figured it out pretty early on (I hadn’t seen your review but once I figured out what it was, I came to see if you reviewed it so I could watch after I finished!)

The sad thing is, mental illness ran in her family. I feel so sorry for Zelda. FSF plagiarized Zelda's diary all the time, using her writing in his books and stories.

I didn't really like the book honestly, I found myself just trying to force myself to the end of the book. I just think the story got stretched out way too much. Also I don't like how there's not much character development other than his ED getting better

I am bipolar so cannot identify at your level but its wonderful to hear you share this perspective. This book is mind blowing in the most terrible yet beautiful way. I literally got confused whether to be shocked or sad at times. Ted is a beautifully written character by any measurement and I can help to see and feel little Ted and beg that his suffering will stop. Even after his mother leaves he seems to get no breaks. But by the end I did get a little Shawshank redemption like feeling of hope and, well, redemption.
